ANDRÉ FU LIVING FLAGSHIP STORE: NOW OPEN

André Fu Living has just unveiled its first standalone retail flagship store at Pacific Place, Hong Kong’s premier lifestyle hub, a showcase for the designer’s lifestyle brand.

“My approach to design rests on navigating cultures and styles to reflect our contemporary lifestyle. On that note, I have chosen my hometown Hong Kong as the destination for my very first retail venue – a city that continually inspires my appreciation for the world of design.’ - André Fu.

Since its official launch during Salone de Mobile in 2019, André Fu Living has introduced a cross-cultural lifestyle into the world of art, design and functionality within interiors. The brand has grown to receive international exposure and recognition, taking André’s vision and innovation to new global heights.

The new 800 sq ft flagship store serves as a venue to express André Fu Living’s design philosophy in its entirety. Embracing the notion of “lifestyle from within”, the enticing new space reveals the full collections of furniture, textiles, lighting, and tableware for André Fu Living. The flagship also showcases Fu’s new OBJECTS, a separate run of material explorative editions by the designer, which is currently previewing at Design Miami/ Podium x Shanghai. The new standalone space communicates the underlying story behind the brand and the lifestyle aesthetics André personally embodies.

Inspired by the Zen temple in Kyoto, Ginkaku-ji, visitors to the flagship can experience the spirit of traditional Kyoto houses, reimagined in a contemporary context. The interior of the store emphasises the sense of intimacy and personal comfort. The 15 metre wide façade of timber grids with bold lines and a highlighted circular window, drawn from traditional Japanese homes, gives the space a unique element of visual layering. When guests move through the store, they will encounter a distinctive impression of a modern and cultural spatial experience.

“I wanted to capture the timeless essence of the collections and immerse the guests in an atmosphere full of warmth and serenity. The soft geometry and simplicity of traditional Kyoto houses manifests the brand’s ideals of comfort, tactility and relaxed luxury.” - André Fu.

Visitors arrive through a foyer, then are invited into a space accented with subtle notes of Japanese aesthetics that bring forth a sense of heritage and purity. The subtle suggestion of bamboo is articulated throughout the store with limed silver oak pillars accompanied by a palette of antique brass and Turkish grey onyx.

The sensuous and personal atmosphere is continued and concealed behind Japanese Shoji screens, into a private salon. The idyllic salon space creates a visual dialogue with the collections inviting guests to engage with the work in a unique and private setting.

The new flagship space features the best of André Fu Living ’s past four collections (Mid Century Rhythm, Artisan Artistry, Modern Vintage and Art Deco Garden), demonstrating their timeless spirit, and potential to be mixed and matched. A spectrum of newness is also unveiled.

The harmonious flagship venue hosts the intrinsic design values of André Fu. Accentuated through carefully curated pieces of intricately designed homeware and artistically sculpted furniture, the experience invites guests to become part of the AFL vision.
