ANDRÉ FU LIVING TO OPEN SECOND LIFESTYLE BOUTIQUE AT ELEMENTS, HONG KONG
MEDIA RELEASE
André Fu Living unveils its second standalone retail boutique at Elements, Hong Kong’s premier lifestyle hub, a showcase for the designer’s lifestyle brand. During the opening period, the boutique will be transformed into a festive mansion.
‘I have always been inspired by the allure of the star and the way they represent a sense of eternity and hope to me. That is why I have chosen to create this festive installation with a skyscape of starry paper-craft in a palette of pistachio, mint green and copper. The festive spirit is also enhanced with a 10 feet high noble fir Christmas tree that will adorn the entrance of the boutique, bringing an authentic feeling of celebration to our new home.’ - André Fu
The new 1600 sq ft store will serve as the latest location to express André Fu Living’s design philosophy in its entirety. Embracing the notion of “lifestyle from within”, the enticing 25m wide L shape façade, as well as the new space, will reveal the full collections of furniture, textiles, lighting, and tableware for André Fu Living.
“My wish is to create a brand that genuinely expresses our time and place, a brand that is not bound by history, traditions and cultures. I deeply believe the underlying rationale of this store experience evokes my brand’s answer to well-being and the real essence of living.’ - André Fu
The new store will also feature various special collections that will be unveiled progressively in the upcoming months including
PETAL TEA TABLE: a new bespoke design executed in oak that evokes a strong Scandinavian aesthetic inspired by the vignette of 4 delicate petals leaning on each other and celebrating the concept of togetherness.
CALLIGRAPHY SOFA: a brand new L-shaped sofa reflecting contemporary Asian aesthetics through a design that captures the silhouette of André’s personal calligraphic writing.
A repertoire of four new portable LED table lamps, each created with the aim of enhancing every dining or residential setting:
- CRYSTELLE: a geometric re-imagination of a crystal dome
- BOULEVARD: a celebration of the cinematic silhouette of traditional streetlamps in European boulevards
- CASCADE: capturing the meandering curvature of cascading landscapes
- RIBBON CHALICE: an enchanted portable lamp that evokes the poetic beacon of hope. It is highlighted by a distinct hand-blown glass globe garnished with fluid ribbon patterns, as well as a polished chrome body.
FARGESIA, André Fu Living’s first reed diffuser for the home, is conceived to celebrate the earthy aspects of bamboo, together with Sichuan pepper, South American ginger and tangy citrus, creating a scent that will accentuate one's lifestyle.
The best of André Fu Living’s past five collections (Mid Century Rhythm, Artisan Artistry, Modern Vintage, Art Deco Garden and Traces of Nature) will also be showcased, demonstrating their timeless spirit and potential to be mixed and matched.
The store venue will exemplify the intrinsic design values of André Fu. Accentuated through carefully curated pieces of intricately designed homeware and artistically sculpted furniture, the experience invites guests to become part of the AFL vision.
NOTES TO EDITORS
About the brand André Fu Living
André Fu Living [AFL] marks architect André Fu's foray into a world of lifestyle offerings that go beyond his spatial creations.
‘It is not about imposing a lifestyle, it is a personal expression of living', says Fu.
The brand seeks to celebrate the notion of lifestyle with a multi-category collection, from tableware, bed linens to furniture and decorative lighting. The collection celebrates Fu’s personal life and taps into his exploration of a world that embraces his design language of relaxed luxury.
The branding itself has adopted a calligraphic approach with an intent to evoke handcrafted values with a nod to Asian typography scripts. The ‘A’ ‘F’ ‘L’ are combined into a rotationally symmetrical monogram, which allows products to be subtly branded in the manner of a jeweller’s hallmark.
